Response Question 3

Response Question 3

Q • From all strategies/theories studied to date in Gass & Seiter and other readings, discuss and provide specific (not vague references) examples of at a minimum of 3 different, distinct tactics/theories (there are multiple possible tactics in the chapters studied thus far representing different theorists) that you will use in developing your final persuasive campaign in your researched area of interest. Previously, you have used and talked about your journal research. Here you want to continue thinking about how you will influence others utilizing theories from the semester semester readings. For example, many times in the media fear is used to get us to start/stop an action - i.e., ads to stop smoking have shown ads with a young person afflicted with throat cancer; double speak is often used to make us think a product has a 'magic' ingredient that scientifically 'proves' a claim made. • Be specific in identifying your theories - unless I see the theories discussed and explained with examples in the development of your persuasive message, your response will not be complete.

There are different theories and/or techniques that can be used in developing a persuasive campaign regarding the topic that I chose – the effectiveness and safety of the keto diet in losing weight. The first theory is the consistency theory which refers to the strong psychological capabilities and need of the negotiator to be consistent with prior acts and arguments. This theory can be significant and effective in persuading people regarding the topic that I am working on since people tend to believe that a written statement should reflect on the real attitude of the negotiator who is providing the arguments.
